All citation data released in ProQuestTM Dissertations & Theses Citation Index; Enhanced Diacritics and Special Characters Support in Web of Science

Citation data is now part of ProQuestTM Dissertations & Theses Citation Index

With this release, the ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Citation Index will become a full part of the citation network on the Web of Science platform! All items where cited references have been indexed from the full text will now display the full cited reference list for each dissertation or thesis. With this release, user will be able to:

  • Navigate to the full cited reference list for a dissertation or thesis
  • View “Related Record” for a dissertation or thesis.

Use the cited reference display to navigate to records cited by a dissertation or thesis

  • See when a document from any index been cited by a dissertation or thesis
  • Sort searches results from the ProQuest Dissertation & Theses Citation index by “Citation: Highest First” to see when a dissertation or thesis has been cited by any document on the Web of Science platform.

Enhanced Diacritics and Special Characters Support in Web of Science

Users can now search and view titles and authors containing Greek symbols, special characters, or diacritical letters across Web of Science Core Collections (WOSCC), Biological Abstracts (BIOABS), BIOSIS Citation Index (BCI), BIOSIS Previews and Current Contents Connect (CCC).

The displayed symbols will be in the original form and users will have the flexibility to search for characters in their original form or as text equivalents, enhancing the search experience.

Author names with diacritics/accented characters

We also introduced support for font Styles, encompassing Italics, Subscript, and Superscript. Users can now view italics, subscripted and superscripted versions of various characters for an improved display experience.

To ensure a comprehensive search experience, selected characters have been addressed in the recent release, with plans to progressively introduce more characters in future updates. Please note that while content containing special characters, diacritics or special characters has been re-indexed, these changes are not expected to impact saved search results or alerts.
