More collections added to new panoramic article view
We’ve added the ability to see CABI: CAB Abstracts® and Global Health®, FSTA® —the food science resource, and Zoological Record to the panoramic view available in All Databases. These latest additions will allow you to easily view all the information about an article that has been indexed in the multiple collections that you are entitled to view.
These latest additions display the following classification systems that group similar content together, so it is easier to find:
CABI: CAB Abstracts and Global Health
• Descriptors
• Broad Descriptors
• Organism Descriptors
• CABI Codes
FSTA—the food safety resource
• FSTA Section and Subsection
Zoological Record
• Broad Terms
• Descriptors Data (Organism and Controlled Term)
• Super Taxa
• Systematic (Classifier and Organism Name)
• Taxa Notes
To view this related content, you can click on the term to find other records that have been indexed under the same grouping.
This new panoramic view will continue to be expanded over subsequent releases with more collections added over time. Stay tuned for more developments!
Journal Impact Factor more broadly available
If a journal that has a Journal Impact Factor is indexed in other collections beyond Web of Science Core Collection, then a link to view the Journal Impact Factor will be available in all collections in which that journal has been indexed.
Journal Impact Factor information at the category and quartile level is available to everyone; if your organization subscribes to Journal Citation Reports, you will be able to view the specific JIF and rank in category.
Researcher Profiles now display publications not indexed in the Core Collection
Web of Science Researcher Profiles can now display publications researchers have added to their profile that are not indexed in the Core Collection. By default, the Publications tab only displays those publications indexed in the Core Collection, but users can now click a checkbox to include other publications chronologically as part of the same list. The number in brackets shows how many publications can be included.
Publications not indexed in the Core Collection are identified in the list with a ‘Not indexed’ badge, and their citations are not tracked. The metrics on a researcher’s profile (e.g., sum of times cited, h-index) are only calculated on their publications in the Core Collection.
Easier browsing of refine options
The refine panel from search results has been revised so that it is easier to browse multiple options in a single glance. The refine options now open in a new pane, where the options can be sorted by number of results or alphabetically. You may ‘refine’ to see more records that contain the selected option, or you may ‘exclude’ to suppress options that you are not interested in.
Chemical structure export
Exporting results from the Core Collection Structure search is now available in SD (compounds) and RD (reactions) formats. Users can also download the reactions and compounds as mol files directly from the search summary page.
Query editing on the search summary page is also available now for text-based searches. Please note, structure searches can’t be edited on the summary page, users will have to return to the structure search page to use the Elemental drawing tool.
Manage Cookie Preferences
To comply with international data privacy policies and best practices, the Web of Science will now allow users to manage their cookie preferences in the application. Users can click the “Manage cookie preferences” link in the Web of Science footer to open a tool to manage their local cookie preferences. Users in GDPR regions will also receive a pop-up notice when they enter WoS where they can accept all, reject all, or manage their cookie preference.
