Release Notes - March 30, 2023

Recommended researchers in profiles, Refine and Analyze by Micro Citation Topic, and the homepage dashboard widget

Recommended researchers in profiles

Claimed Researcher Profiles containing at least one Core Collection article may display a list of suggested researcher profiles based on similar subject areas. Co-authors are excluded from the list.

Recommended researchers in the homepage widget

Users with a Web of Science Researcher Profile and at least one publication indexed in the Core Collection will see a new addition to the ‘Recommended for you’ homepage widget:

Users are shown 10 recommended researcher profiles. Click ‘View profile’ to navigate to the author record in the same tab, click the three dots “More options” menu to create author publication and/or citation alerts.

Refine and Analyze by Micro Citation Topic

Users can now Refine or Analyze any set of Web of Science Core Collection results by Micro Citation Topics. Citation Topics are a citation-based subject categorization schema that was developed in collaboration with the Center for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) at Leiden University in the Netherlands. With over 2500 Micro Citation Topics applied to articles from 1980 to the present, Micro Citation Topics provide users with a granular and evolving category schema for improving search precision or for analyzing the scope of a topic.

Turkey country name change to Turkiye

Turkey as a country name has now been updated to its official spelling, Turkiye on Web of Science for records published on or after January 1, 2023.  Users will still be able to refine by countries/regions on search results page so that records prior to 2023 with country name Turkey will be discovered on Web of Science.

Thank you for your support and feedback. Together we will bring a better Web of Science to all.
