You May Also Like..., Enriched cited references, Export to Publons, and more
We’ve expanded the “You may also like,” feature so that suggested records will now appear on every single item in the Web of Science Core Collection; and a set of suggested records is now available for every search of the Core Collection on a new tab. For users looking for something specific, suggested articles can dramatically expedite search. And for users browsing generally, they can create serendipitous moments of discovery!
Some articles have enriched the cited references with additional context that is designed to capture the author’s intent when citing references in the body of their article including:
A visualization accompanies these enriched cited references in which a dot indicates each time a cited reference was cited within the body of the article. Hover on the dots to see which reference the dot represents. Click on the “View in-text mention” to navigate down to the cited reference of interest and see which other references were cited nearby, which suggests a close degree of relatedness.
You may also sort the enriched cited references to view them in the order of first appearance (most like a traditional bibliography); by all appearances (so you can see which references were cited near each other); and by Cited in article-Highest (so you can surface the must-read, most impactful references if you are pressed for time).
This enhancement has been released in a beta format. At initial release, it is available for selected content from Core Collection only. Subscribers can view a sample of records that contain enriched cited references here. We welcome feedback to inform future development.
Easily update your Publons researcher profile by exporting your authored Core Collection documents direct from the article or search results pages in new Web of Science. Having found your article(s) in the Core Collection, click Export and then ‘Add to my Publons profile’. You will then be directed to Publons to complete the process.
New Web of Science has been translated into Portuguese and Spanish. To open the language menu, click the word “English” at the right end of the top toolbar. We will be adding more languages soon.
New Web of Science now displays the library logos at the bottom of the basic search page for customers who have requested it. In this manner, users can recognize the libraries that provides their access to Web of Science and have an easy path back to the library’s resource page. Customers may request to display their logo by following these instructions. Support for logos displayed at the top of the page will follow in a subsequent release.
Thank you for your support and feedback. Together we will bring a better Web of Science to all.
