March 30 Release Notes

Seamless navigation to Web of Science; customization and usability enhancements; Genes & Targets tissue expression; and new visualizations.

Cross-linking and navigation

  • Explore authors, affiliations, funding and more for a given article in Web of Science by clicking on the button “View Record in Web of Science” within the Literature Knowledge area. If you are not subscribed to WoS, you will access the free version of the application. If you are already a subscriber, you will be able to seamlessly navigate to WoS without having to introduce your Clarivate credentials again.

  • Use Cortellis Drug Discovery Intelligence to export your references of interest and create your own library in a bibliographic management software:
    • Search and/or select your references of interest
    • Select Export in the Options menu
    • Select RIS format
    • Use the RIS file to import your references into Clarivate EndNote or other compatible reference management tool

  • Navigate from the Biomarker records to the mapped gene entities in MetaCore. This may help you to understand if your biomarker of interest makes sense from a biological perspective. For example, does it sit in a linear path between the drug target and normal/pathological function? By accessing MetaCore, you will be able to review the associated pathway maps to answer this question.

  • Use the new quick access in the left-hand menu to navigate to OFF-X. And please, remember, that direct links from the Drug and Target records to the associated safety alerts in OFF-X are also available so you can explore the safety profile of the drug, target or class of interest.

Customization

  • Re-order the table columns according to your preferences. Since 2021, you could show/hide the columns, but from now, you can also re-order them. Use the icon on the left to drag and drop the fields as desired. Your preferences will be saved in the system, so you don’t need to customize your table view every time you access the application.

Usability

  • Set up alerts on the latest or forthcoming conferences from the homepage. Click on the bell next to the conference of interest to set up your notifications for new abstracts or posters indexed once the conference has started.

  • Enjoy the improved usability in Pipeline on the Move using the new filter options to retrieve the milestones of interest (i.e., for a particular condition). Filter by Milestone data (Milestone, Country/Region, Organization, and/or Condition) or by the target of interest.

A new column displaying the target name has also been added.

Remember that you can access the Pipeline on the Move (milestones associated to active drugs) from the Latest Insights section on the homepage.

  • Experimental Pharmacology improvements: Easily explore and sort your results using the original value reported in the source, or the normalized value in micrograms or micromolar. Instead of having to click the old option “Show normalized units”, all of them are now displayed by default, although you can customize your view by showing/hiding columns or reordering them.

  • Search for specific citations in Literature area running an Advanced Search and using the new fields: Volume, Issue and Page.
  • When the export pop-up is opened, if you press the “Enter” button, file will automatically export. Previously, “enter” was acting as default as a Cancel. If you don’t need to change the file format or the fields to be exported (remember that your preferences are saved), this behavior allows you to quickly save in two steps: 1) Select “Export” in the Options menu; and 2) Press “Enter” (or click “Export”).

Genes & Targets enhancements

  • Narrow down your search results to find putative or drug targets expressed in a particular tissue. Tissue expression from NCBI (see HPA RNA-seq normal tissues) is now available within the Advanced Search, Filters, Record page and Export.

  • Visualize your results in a graphical way in the Overview. As in other areas, add/remove/reorder charts to fit the dashboard to your needs. Click on the graphs to easily narrow down your search results.

Drug Metabolism Knowledge area enhancements

  • Drug Metabolism Knowledge area: Switch between different network visualizations to find the one that better works for your metabolism network of interest.

  • Save your search and set up alerts to receive an e-mail notification when there are new metabolic reactions matching your search criteria.
