Clarivate Patent Monitor provides workflow management and collaboration space to help your organization manage the regular review of newly published patents, significantly accelerating patent review when compared to unstructured, Excel file-based processes.

Dedicated collaboration space includes access to industry leading DWPI data, allowing for effective management of infringement and FTO risks, plus discovery of new market or licensing opportunities. Centralizing patent review enables rapid historical recall to support critical decisions.

Alpha enables access to Patent Monitor at an early stage of development. However, the solution already supports the core patent review workflow, which includes:

  • Create Projects, which associate patent documents about a specific subject and user review teams (including user groups)
  • Assign review tasks to specific users (or groups), set due dates and leverage email notifications to keep the team on track
  • Leverage a dedicated feed per user to quickly surface and action currently assigned documents
  • Access to full patent document details, including enhanced DWPI data
  • Utilize labels, statuses, ratings and comments for each document within a project
  • Stay on track with notifications for project invites, document assignment and comment mentions

The alpha version of Patent Monitor provides significant time-savings to patent review projects and teams. Feedback your organization provides during alpha will further shape the vision for the tool, helping ensure that our forthcoming commercial release best meets your needs from launch forward.

During alpha, Patent Monitor will be available to you and your organization free of charge. All data will be kept strictly confidential according to our robust information security policies.

The alpha test runs April through June 2024.

How much time you spend in the solution is entirely optional and based on the needs of your participants. However, we believe running at least 3 ongoing patent “watch” projects is sufficient to demonstrate its effectiveness.

Simply, use the Patent Monitor tool as the primary channel to assign and review patent documents. We ask that teams collaborate in the tool as necessary and use the annotation, labeling, and workflow status features to track documents in their monthly patent alerts.

We ask that your organization make robust use of the in-product feedback mechanisms so that we can quickly work on enhancements which will provide even more value to the Patent Monitor user community.

We will provide regular updates to you about the feedback we receive from users at your organization and general statistics about use. We will schedule a debrief call near the end of the alpha period so we can understand your reflections on the value of Patent Monitor. After alpha, we will provide an export of your organization’s work during the alpha program to ensure you capture that value.
