Publons shortlisted for ALPSP Awards for Innovation in Publishing 2017

The Association of Learned & Professional Society Publishers announced the shortlist for the annual ALPSP Awards for Innovation in Publishing. Publons, the leading online peer-review platform, is among the finalists.

The award honors any new development, product, service, launch, or project which is both innovative and significantly valuable to scholarly communications. “We believe that the finalists we have selected are not only transformative but truly innovative for scholarly publishing in what they offer,” says David Sommer, chair of the judging panel.

Speeding up science

Recognizing that research is facing a slew of issues – from a reproducibility crisis to increasing public and media skepticism to slowness in the dissemination of peer-reviewed findings – Publons was founded on the core belief that peer review is at the heart of research. Publons works with publishers to ensure that researchers can effortlessly track, verify, and showcase their peer-review contributions, all as part of the mission to speed up science and research. Currently, more than 175,000 researchers, upwards of 900,000 documented reviews, and 25,000-plus journals (over 1,350 of which are formally partnered) are on the Publons platform.

Stay tuned to find out the winners, to be announced at the ALPSP Conference Awards Dinner on Thursday, September 14.
