Introduction
All researchers, regardless of ability, need access to scholarly information. Clarivate is committed to providing all our users with a fully accessible experience for research, teaching and learning.
At Clarivate, we make every effort to ensure that our platforms – including Journal Citation Reports (JCR) – can be used by everyone. Journal Citation Reports (JCR) is continually designed and developed to meet Level AA of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2).
Users of Journal Citation Reports (JCR) should be able to:
- Navigate most of the web application using a keyboard only
- Navigate to most of the web application using a screen reader
- Go directly to main content areas on the page using skip links
- Experience a logical and consistent tab order for majority of the interactive elements
- Zoom in up to 200% using browser tools without text spilling off the screen.
There may be some parts of this website that are not fully accessible:
- Some PDFs may not be accessible to screen readersSome data visualizations may not be fully accessible to screen readers
- Most form fields are clearly described, some form fields are not labeled
- Some elements are missing ARIA labels
- Some 3rd party tools, like the resource guides, may not be fully accessible
- Text is able to be magnified up to 200% without loss of functionality. Some content is disrupted at 400% magnification.
- Some interface elements lack clear programmatic labels, roles, or values, which may hinder assistive technologies from accurately interpreting their function.
Accessibility features and gaps
Content accessibility
Journal Citation Reports (JCR) is a trusted, independent source of journal intelligence that provides publisher‑neutral metrics and analysis to support informed evaluation of scholarly journals. JCR delivers transparent insights such as the Journal Impact Factor (JIF) and additional indicators by clearly showing the relationship between article‑level and journal‑level citations, with direct links to source content in the Web of Science Core Collection. While JCR presents evaluation data and contextual information about journals, it does not host or control the accessibility of the full‑text articles published by journals or content available on external sites. Some help resources may link to instructional videos hosted on the Clarivate marketing website, which is outside the JCR product experience. We encourage publishers to upload accessible content, and to include links to accessible materials to ensure accessibility for all.
