Launches local Graduate Acceleration Program to support global innovation and local talent
London, U.K., March 12, 2021 – Clarivate Plc (NYSE: CLVT), a global leader in providing trusted information and insights to accelerate the pace of innovation, announced today that it has opened the doors to its new Global Business Center (GBC) in Penang, Malaysia. The GBC serves as a central hub, providing sales and customer support to global customers. It’s one of three Clarivate GBCs that deliver world-class services, with the other two based in Chandler, U.S. and Belgrade, Serbia.
“Here at Clarivate, we believe human ingenuity can change the world and improve our future,” said Shankar Nagalingam, Vice President for the Clarivate GBC in Penang. “Our vision is to improve the way the world creates, protects and commercializes innovation and we offer solutions that drive the entire lifecycle of innovation for scientific and academic research, pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare intelligence and intellectual property services.”
According to Shankar, Clarivate has already hired 130 colleagues to support the local operations. The GBC has extended multi-lingual capabilities, supporting customers in English, Mandarin, Japanese and Korean, and have plans to expand its competencies for Arabic, Hindi, French and German.
“We are now launching our Clarivate Graduate Acceleration Program (CGAP) to continue building an elite talent pipeline,” said Shankar. “We are proud to offer a 12-month program which enables graduates to experience working in a corporate environment and accelerate their career journey. We are also planning to expand our footprint in Malaysia and will be hiring another 150-200 colleagues over the next 12 months. The Penang GBC is thriving as a regional Center of Expertise and I look forward to welcoming new talent this year.”
The Penang business center tagline is ‘The Best Workplace Ever’.
