Introduction
All library patrons, regardless of ability, need access to scholarly information. Clarivate is committed to providing all our users with a fully accessible experience for research, teaching and learning.
At Clarivate, we make every effort to ensure that our platforms – including Polaris Leap – can be used by everyone. Polaris Leap is continually designed and developed to meet Level AA of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2).
Users of Polaris Leap should be able to:
- Navigate most of the web application using a keyboard only
- Navigate to most of the web application using a screen reader
- Experience a logical and consistent tab order for majority of the interactive elements
- The name, role, state, and value of most user interface components can be programmatically determined.
- Support staff efficiency, focus is intentionally moved to key input fields after search, while ensuring all elements remain accessible via keyboard navigation and assistive technologies.
There may be some parts of this website that are not fully accessible:
- Although Polaris Leap is responsive, this content has been specifically designed for use on a tablet or greater screen size. Because of the minimum screen size for Leap, a zoom level of 400% causes some content to be lost.
- Disappearing toast is used to convey error messages. Display duration is configurable via the library.
- Some interface elements lack clear programmatic labels, roles, or values, which are currently under review to improve assistive technology support.
- Most content structure is programmatically conveyed, though some exceptions like unmarked visual tables and unlabeled form groups are under review for accessibility improvements.
