Introduction

All library staff, regardless of ability, need access to configure administrative settings within the Polaris system. Clarivate is committed to providing all our users with a fully accessible experience to manage system configurations.

At Clarivate, we make every effort to ensure that our platforms – including Polaris Admin – can be used by everyone. Polaris Admin is continually designed and developed to meet Level AA of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2).

Users of Polaris Admin should be able to:

  • Navigate most of the web application using a keyboard only
  • Navigate to most of the web application using a screen reader
  • Experience a logical and consistent tab order for majority of the interactive elements
  • Confidently manage system-level settings such as patron account visibility and Express Check options, with clear labeling and intuitive controls designed to support diverse user needs.

There may be some parts of this website that are not fully accessible:

  • At a zoom level of 400%, most of the content may get lost, overflow, overlap, or become truncated.
  • Although Polaris Admin is responsive, this content has been specifically designed for use on a tablet or greater screen size.
  • Some interface elements lack clear programmatic labels, roles, or values, which may hinder assistive technologies from accurately interpreting their function.
  • All pages share the same HTML title element, which can make navigation difficult for users relying on assistive technologies.
  • On few instances focus indicators are missing or low contrast, hindering keyboard navigation.

  • ANDI (Accessible Name & Description Inspector) tool
  • Chrome Developer Tools
  • Keyboard-access manual testing and assessment
