Extensive-stage SCLC is an incurable disease for which very few treatment options exist. Platinum-based chemotherapy was the standard of care for these patients until the approval of immune checkpoint inhibitors—Tecentriq (Roche/Genentech) and Imfinzi (AstraZeneca)—changed the treatment paradigm for extensive-stage SCLC patients.
