Current Classics from Essential Science Indicators

Current Classics is a listing of Highly Cited Papers having the greatest absolute increase in cumulative citations from the previous bimonthly period to now. One paper is selected for each of the 22 fields in Essential Science Indicators from Clarivate Analytics. A total of up to 10 years of Essential Science Indicators citation data, plus some number of consecutive bimonthly periods during the current year, are used to determine the Current Classics paper selected for each field.

The Current Classics below have the greatest absolute increase in citations from: January 1, 2007 to October 31, 2017, the previous bimonthly period (the fifth of 2017), to January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2017, the current (sixth) bimonthly period of 2017.

For full details and citation histories of these papers, see the listings of Highly Cited Papers in Essential Science Indicators. If you do not have access to the product, please contact your institution’s library or research office.
