The way we view research impact is changing, with measurement of research success increasingly evolving beyond traditional publication metrics to take in a greater focus on real-world, societal benefits. But while many funders have emphasised the desirability of demonstrating a wider range of research impacts, there is much less consensus on the best way to do this, and by extension how universities can best support their researchers to track and highlight the benefits of their work.
