Mr. Dijkstal has a background in science policy and innovation studies. He is an experienced quantitative researcher trained in data science, statistical analysis and econometrics. Mr. Dijkstal has delivered a wide range of data-driven consultancy projects and bibliometric studies in the area of research assessment and evaluation for clients in the public sector as well as those in research and academia. Past assignments include projects for UK Research & Innovation, the European Commission, the Research Council of Norway and the US National Cancer Institute. He has also managed projects for the UK Royal Academy of Engineering and the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. Prior to joining Clarivate, Mr. Dijkstal worked in public policy consulting on theory-based evaluations and impact assessments of research funding programs.
