Perform deeper analysis of collaboration patterns to inform strategic partnerships using data and tools in Web of Science and InCites (EMEA)
Research collaboration is a continuous critical element to the advancement of research. As the volume and complexity of collaborations grow, so increases the need for analytical tools to examine the existing state and evolution of these collaborations. Until now, metrics for assessing the impact of collaboration patterns have been limited. Impact is traditionally measured by normalizing for the effect of research area, publication and document type. The new metrics included in InCites B&A offer a more granular perspective of impact by considering the collaboration type, such as domestic or international. To further our analysis of research collaboration we will also examine the importance of unified address data in identifying collaboration networks. We will provide practical strategies for leveraging bibliographic data from Web of Science, normalized metrics and filters from InCites B&A to inform institutional decisions, strengthen partnerships, and maximize research impact on a global scale.
