Building a world-class research talent pool

Research and development are key to driving socio-economic growth in all major economies around the world. However, many countries and institutions face challenges in recruiting, grooming and retaining top research talent to help meet these national aspirations. Competition to attract the best talents, and the ones with the right fit, means that institutions need to become more strategic in their identification and recruitment process.

In Clarivate’s latest case study titled “Understanding Talent and Research Capacity through Analytics”, Prof. Michael Khor Khiam Aik, the Director of the Talent Recruitment And Career Support (TRACS) Office and Bibliometrics Analysis of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) shares about how data-driven analytics has helped the university understand it’s research strengths and weaknesses, thus identifying the research gaps. Hear from Prof. Khor on how this has helped to give direction to the strategies adopted by the university in spotting the right research talent and building a healthy talent pipeline.

Mahidol University forged strong global partnerships that have helped the university in meeting their research and innovation objectives to support Thailand’s national agenda. Prof. Dr. Pattarachai Kiratasin, Vice President for Research, Mahidol University will share about some of the programs that create, recruit, support and maintain internationally qualified researchers, building research competitiveness for the university.

Joining Clarivate as co-hosts for this event is Thailand’s Program Management Unit for Human Resources & Institutional Development, Research and Innovation (PMU-B), Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council’s (NXPO). PMU-B has put in place various programs to drive talent recruitment and development to help support the Thailand’s various research policy initiatives.
