An introduction to the new interface for the Web of Science, available in parallel with the current version from November 2020.
On the occasion of the thirteenth International Open Access Week, our team of experts will demonstrate how Open Access publications are discoverable and can be analysed in the Web of Science and in the new InCites platform.
In this session we will provide background on the changes made to the interface and demonstrate how both experienced and new users can efficiently produce the analysis they need.
This year we have released numerous enhancements to the Web of Science and InCites to support the research ecosystem. We continue to support your institution to shape the future of research. So where to from here? What is our vision for 2021 and beyond? Watch this on-demand webinar and hear directly from our product development team who will share the exciting new developments Web of Science will be launching over the coming months. Be the first to have a sneak peek at what is new to the Web of Science and InCites.
This year Clarivate sponsored the online event CISPC 2020, during which Rob Poolman presented a 10min lighting talk to the attendees. In this short time he covers challenges face by academic research institutions, the vision and strategy for the Web of Science platform and how Clarivate supports Scholarly Publishing now and in the future.
On 18 November 2020, the Highly Cited Researchers™ (HCRs) list was revealed. Fewer than 0.1%, of the world's researchers, across 21 research fields, have earned the exclusive Highly Cited Researcher distinction. Australia continues to do well placing 5th in the world by region. The total count of HCRs in Australia increased by 34 which is a 12.5% increase on last year’s count. New Zealand increased by a total of 6 HCRs this year (totaling 18) placing them 27th in the world by region. To celebrate watch the on-demand webinar where we delve into the data behind Highly Cited Researchers in Australia and New Zealand.
As a contributor and stakeholder within the global research system, your role and actions are crucial for ensuring high quality and integrity standards are upheld in conducting and reporting research in Australia and worldwide. The inaugural Clarivate event on 25 November 2020 presented how the collective actions from key stakeholders across the research system are tackling the challenges and capturing opportunities to improve research integrity in Australia and worldwide.
In today’s era of declining public trust in science, international political uncertainty, and the global pandemic, stakeholders across the research landscape face increasing pressure to demonstrate the value of research while navigating an environment of increasing competition and complexity.
However at the same time, technological advances and the rise of open research present exciting opportunities for researchers working across government, industry, and academia to collaborate to innovate.
For over 60 years, Web of Science™ has provided you with the industry-leading data, analysis, and expertise you need to fund, conduct, and publish research that solves the world’s most pressing challenges and pushes the boundaries of the known universe. Now, we are building advanced resources and tools designed to accelerate the pace of discovery, increase the transparency and visibility of open research, better support your strategic funding and investment decisions, and facilitate wider and deeper collaborations across the research community.
In this webinar, Keith Collier, Senior Vice President of the Science Group at Clarivate, shares our Web of Science vision for 2021 and beyond, including insights into the trends informing our investments.
Bringing researchers together, from disparate teams, is critical to the scientific endeavor, yet COVID-19 has disrupted the traditional model of scientific interchange and made it harder for researchers to develop collaborative networks and gain research visibility. The experience in managing COVID-19 has also reinforced the necessity of understanding local context to inform decision-making against global challenges and in turn, to having inter-connected researchers who are versed in local community challenges to address these.
This change has further incentivized research managers to explore solutions to help facilitate the open exchange of knowledge.
