The following items represent notable improvements made to the platform and tools in this release, as well as key defect fixes and optimizations. This document also provides information about default configuration values and instructions for configuring each feature. Please note that some features must be activated by your ScholarOne representative to benefit from the new functionality; contact your Client Implementation Manager (CIM) for questions around permission or configurations.

View Invitation from Speaker Management

Added the ability to directly proxy into a user’s Speaker Management invitation.


Action Required

Read-only view is available by default. To make the pop-up fully editable, please discuss with your Client Implementation Manager.


Details
  • New View column was added to the grid in Speaker Management.
  • Includes a hyperlinked pop-up to view the user’s invitation directly from the grid.
  • This pop-up can either be read-only or fully editable.

Exporting All Speaker Management Fields

Added the ability to export all fields including custom questions from the Speaker Management grid.

There is a new Export All to Excel (Includes custom questions) in Speaker Management.

Custom questions added to invitations can now be exported to excel.

Limiting Emails Sent from Speaker Management

Added the ability to limit the emails sent to a user in Speaker Management.

Author Email Improvements

Added a Status column to the authors email center which includes emails that were failed to be delivered.

Added Status column to the authors email center. There are 3 main statuses

  • Pending: This appears when the email is queued and waiting to be sent.
  • Successfully sent: (This would appear once the email is successfully delivered.
  • Failed: Failed Status Errors are as follows:
    Field ‘To’ is too large.
    Field ‘Cc’ is too large.
    Field ‘Bcc’ is too large.
    Field ‘From’ is too large.
    Field ‘Subject’ is too large.
    Failed to Send [This would cover all other errors]

Speaker Management Grid Additions

Symposia ID and Symposia Name are now available as display items.

Added a progress bar for all file upload questions.

Proof Display Improvements

Separated out proof items for review and score fields.

Display and search items have been broken out for review and score fields. Each review role will now have a unique display and search field.

All current proofs, saved searches and/or email tags will not be impacted with these improvements.

Multiple Rounds of Review

Improvements to help with multiple rounds of review workflow.

Details
  • Previously, initiating an abstract for open-editing it required a decision to be placed on the abstract. Now, reviewer recommendations can be configured to flag abstracts as being eligible for editing.
  • Admins can control which reviewer role should be used and how many recommendations are needed for an abstract to be eligible for being able to make edits.
  • This will allow an author to make a revision to their initial submission and be able to have an additional round of reviews.

Author Feedback Guide

Authors now have an opportunity to provide feedback based on their experience directly after submission.

  • Authors are not required to participate.
  • Only authors who have not submitted in the past 90 days will see the feedback guide.
  • Feedback will go directly to the Product Team.

Notable Defect Fixes & Functionality Optimizations

Emails
Fixed an issue where emails were sent via “Re-send” did not always appear in the user’s account under messages.

Affiliations
Fixed an issue with certain configurations to auto populate the author and affiliation it will pull from the Ringgold record and not the users account.
