New WoS April 15 Release Notes

Localized for Simplified Chinese, Cited Reference Search for all citation databases, and more

Localized for Simplified Chinese

New Web of Science has been translated into Simplified Chinese. To open the language menu, click the word “English” at the right end of the top toolbar. We will be adding more languages soon.

Cited Reference Search for all citation databases

In March, we released Cited reference search for Web of Science Core Collection. Now, it is available for every citation database in new Web of Science, as well as “All Databases” search. Cited reference search allows you to search for records that have cited a published work, navigating the citation index for recent scholarly works related to your topic of interest. Search for a cited author or work and then select the records that you wish to view the citing works for. You can export both the cited and citing works as well as sort the results. Cited reference search is available for the Web of Science Core Collection, Arabic Citation Index, BIOSIS Citation Index, Chinese Science Citation Database, Data Citation Index, Russian Science Citation Index and SciELO Citation Index, as well as all of these through All Databases search.

Merge author records from the Author Search Results page

If an author’s publications are split across multiple author records, you can now easily request for these to be merged via a shortcut from the Author Search Results page. Select more than one unclaimed author record from the results list and the ‘Merge records’ button will be activated. Once you have signed in, you will be directed to the simple correction wizard to complete the process.
