Monday, September 11 marks the start of Peer Review Week 2017. In the spirit of this year’s theme of “transparency,” here’s a sneak peek at some of the activities you’ll see from the Clarivate and Publons teams next week.

Under the Microscope: Transparency in Peer Review – Panel after the Peer Review Congress

Announcement of upcoming product update to ScholarOne Manuscripts
In recent years there have been a number of disturbing incidents of peer review fraud. In an effort to assist publishers with identifying potentially fraudulent peer reviews, the upcoming ScholarOne Manuscripts release slated for December 2017, will include the launch of a pilot program to detect unusual submission and peer review activity that may warrant further investigation by the journal. Publons Peer Review Award Winners Announced
On Tuesday, September 12, Publons will announce the winners of Publons Peer Review Awards, honoring the 2017 Sentinels of Science and Research.

ORCiD Peer Review Week 2017 Webinar

Christopher Heid (ScholarOne Product Lead, Clarivate Analytics) will participate in this webinar from ORCiD, along with Tony Alves, Kent Anderson, and Stephanie Monasky. Topics include: overview of the peer review functionality on ORCID, the uptake of peer review on ORCID,  and discussion with ORCID members on how and why they are (or are planning to) use ORCID in their peer review workflows.
