Essential Science Indicators from Clarivate Analytics is updated every two months. At each update, we look at New Hot Papers, which are papers published in the past two years that are in the top one-tenth of one percent (0.1%) for their field and publication period.
For the first bimonthly update of 2018, which was published in May and covers 1 January 2008-28 February 2018, there were a total of 2,901 Hot Papers. Of these, 1,745 papers were not Hot Papers in the previous update.
