Author of green gardening guide wins Clarivate Award for Communicating Zoology [2020]

Highly Cited Researcher Dave Goulson has won the Clarivate Award for Communicating Zoology in 2020 for his book, The Garden Jungle.

Each year, Clarivate teams with the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) to award an author or filmmaker for work in zoology that has impact on a wide audience. This year we are pleased to present the Clarivate Award for Communicating Zoology to Highly Cited Researcher™ Dave Goulson for his book, The Garden Jungle.

Professor Goulson, who teaches biology at the University of Sussex, uses his guide to green gardening to reconnect his readers with the wildlife in gardens and parks. The Garden Jungle illustrates how small changes can have a big impact on the planet: we are invited to see our gardens as rich habitats and to follow simple advice (from digging ponds to planting a variety of flowers) to improve wildlife and reverse dangerous trends like climate change.
