Clarivate are pleased to introduce a three-part workshop on “Basics of bibliometrics” that aims to provide participants with a thorough understanding of citation analysis and bibliometric indicators, focusing on their use in research evaluation.
The sessions are scheduled on Oct 17,19 and 21 at 11:00 AM IST. Each session will be of 60 min. duration.
After completing the workshop, the participants will be able to:
> Understand and interpret a wide range of publication- and citation-based statistics
> Understand what constitutes proper and improper use of bibliometric and scientometric information in the evaluation of scientific research.
**Upon attending all the 3 sessions of the workshop, participants will be receiving a certificate of participation.**

• Bibliometric data sources
• Introduction to Bibliometric Visualization software e.g., Vosviewer
o Understand the concept of citation analysis.
o Understand the development of the terms bibliometrics and scientometrics.
o Understand early development of mathematical and statistical methods to describe information processes and regularities in publications.
o Understand how to calculate basic indicators like journal impact factor (JIF), average citations, and h-index.
o Understand how changes in inclusions, exclusions, and methods affect a metric.
