Every two months, Essential Science IndicatorsSM (ESI) from Clarivate Analytics updates with new data. This update includes the latest New Hot Papers, which are papers published in the past two years that are in the top one-tenth of one percent (0.1%) for their field and publication period.
For the fourth bimonthly update, which was published in late November and covers January 1 2006-August 31 2016, there were a total of 2,743 Hot Papers. Of these, 1,742 papers achieved Hot Paper status for the first time.
