Guidance on communications and marketing

Whether you publish one journal or two thousand, we know you are proud of their inclusion in Journal Citation Reports™ and want to shout about it.

When announcing your Journal Impact Factor™, we recommend providing additional contextual information alongside of it to help your audience understand the full scope of your journal’s impact and influence.

If your organization subscribes to Journal Citation Reports, you can use the rich data and visualizations from your journals’ profile pages, such as trend graphs and citation distribution patterns, in your promotional messaging and campaigns. In addition, consider including your own data, such as social media views, website visits or submission-to-publication times.

PLEASE NOTE : DISTRIBUTING ALL OR SUBSTANTIAL PART OF THE JOURNAL CITATION REPORTS (JCR) DATA IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. You may publicize an insubstantial portion of JCR data relating to your individual institution (which would not have significant commercial value of its own) and reference such extracted JCR data in non-commercial work documents and reports. All use of JCR data is subject to our End User Terms which prohibits any other type of sharing. Copyright © 2022 Clarivate Analytics.

You might consider:

  • Sending out a press release
  • Including the news in author newsletters
  • Informing your Editorial Board Members and any external Editors
  • Letting your colleagues know through an internal announcement
