The VA's Veterans Health Administration supplies healthcare coverage to more than 9 million retired and disabled veterans. Military veteran coverage is administered by the Veterans Health Administration, which operates as a single-payer system. The VA is both primary and exclusive payer for all authorized care. With a high volume of older members, the VA has received shipments of the COVID-19 vaccine nationwide. Most locations are scheduling vaccinations for members 65 and older, although concerns remain about reduced vaccine allotments and vaccinating the VA's large rural populations.
