Health plans in Wisconsin and Minnesota are rolling out new suites of wellness products that offer premium discounts, among other perks, for hitting specified wellness targets. Minnesota's State Employee Group Insurance Program has rolled out a medication therapy management program, which is designed to improve prescription drug adherence and compliance for members who are taking at least four maintenance drugs to treat two different conditions. In addtion, commercial health plans in Wisconsin and Minnesota have turned toward value-based pharmacy benefits, coupled with MTM efforts, for employer groups. On the Medicare front, Humana stands to gain membership in a stand-alone prescription drug plan it is launching in conjunction with Wal-Mart. Meanwhile, Minnesota has made headway in its statewide patient-centered medical home initiative, certifying participating clinics and formulating a payment structure.
