Massachusetts, continuing to look for answers to its escalating heatlhcare costs, has passed legislation requring insurers to offer a limited network option for small employers–apparantly modeled off Fallon Community Health Plan's successful model. In Rhode Island, the state's largers insurer-Blue Cross & Blue Shield-has exited the Medicaid HMO landscape as new contracts–with tighter pharmacy controls–go into place. Massachusetts is set to remain a challenging environment for pharma reps after a bill to allow prescription drug coupons failed to pass.
