Iowa's governor has signed a healthcare reform law that increases coverage for children with family incomes up to 300 percent of the federal poverty level. The legislature also expanded the ability of insurers to offer health insurance to dependent children until they are 25. A statewide electronic medical records system became closer to a reality, meanwhile, thanks to a $17 million federal grant.
