Georgia | 2022 | Health Plan Analysis (Event Driven)

Commercial enrollment in Georgia has dipped as hundreds of thousands of residents turn to subsidies on the federally facilitated health insurance exchange, which has five more carriers offering plans in 2022. Georgia's proposal for a 1115 Medicaid waiver for partial Medicaid expansion received approval from the previous Trump administration in October 2020, which came with work requirements. However, the Democratic Biden administration rescinded the work requirements for Georgia, which jeopardizes the future of partial Medicaid expansion introduced in July 2021.
