Commercial enrollment in Georgia has dipped as hundreds of thousands of residents turn to subsidies on the federally facilitated health insurance exchange, which has six carriers offering plans in 2021. Meanwhile, five more insurers have filed to participate in the Georgia exchange in 2022, bringing the state total to 11 insurers. Georgia's proposal for a 1115 Medicaid waiver for partial Medicaid expansion received approval from the previous Trump administration (in October 2020), which comes with work requirements. However, the Biden administration will revisit the waiver issue.
