Colorado health policy has circled around greater access in rural areas and cost-effective healthcare through inciting competition in the state. Colorado's proposal to create a public option, prescription drug rebating for Medicaid, and active policy improvements in the exchange marketplace are suggestive of the same. Although a major overhaul on the healthcare front is unlikely at this time, the state has restructured the public option bill and has received federal approval for the Section 1332 innovation waiver. As part of Colorado Option, a standardized benefit plan will be developed and made available to Coloradans from January 2023.
