CompuMark announces industry-leading DIY image searching tool

BOSTON, MA: May 16, 2017CompuMark, the industry leader for trademark research and protection, has announced the availability of TM go365 Image Search, its new self-service image search tool that makes it easier for users to confidently clear image trademarks themselves.

TM go365 Image Search is the first tool of its kind to combine image recognition technology with a global content database and a powerful workflow toolset. By simply uploading an image and hitting go, the user will receive a comprehensive set of results that instantly shows the most similar matches. These results can then be filtered, sorted, flagged and annotated by the user according to their specific requirements — a unique feature.

TM go365 Image Search also includes a flexible search control, which lets users highlight a segment of an uploaded image and focus the image recognition technology on the selection. This is useful for searching unique characteristics within a larger image, or simply performing a thorough review before applying for trademarks. The solution allows users to spend less time performing image trademark searches and more time focusing on evaluating results and assessing any risks. The tool is fully integrated into CompuMark’s TM go365, the company’s cloud-based solution, which offers a host of tools for quick, self-service clearance searches that mitigate risk.

“Around 40% of all global trademark filings include an image component, and yet a large amount of these images go unsearched due to a lack of effective search tools”, said Steve Pogorzelski, president of CompuMark. “Previously, people have compromised by searching complex images using keywords or image codes, but obviously these methods are far from ideal due to their lack of accuracy, and can often result in thousands of different results to review.”

“However, with TM go365 Image Search, we’re confident this will change. By simply uploading an image into the tool, attorneys and any other individuals can quickly assess the image landscape and spot images that are identical or closely similar to the image searched. While there are indeed image clearance products on the market, this is the only one to use such advanced technology and deliver such a high level of accuracy.”

TM go365 Image Search uses CompuMark’s global trademark data, which is trusted by top law firms and leading businesses around the world.

TM go365 Image Search will be available beginning May 16, 2017.
