Celebrating inclusivity, community and career development with Women at Clarivate

Julia Mair, Chief Marketing Officer, Clarivate Analytics, discusses the Women at Clarivate program and hails the inspirational winners of its first international awards.

Women@Clarivate works to cultivate an environment in which women flourish through the creation of opportunities for social interaction, networking, community engagement and professional development in an effort to uplift employees who identify as female and enable them to better contribute to Clarivate’s vision, mission and values. In the past year the program has grown both in numbers and success, and the company introduced the Women at Clarivate Awards to recognize colleagues who have gone above and beyond.

Introducing the Women at Clarivate awards

Women@Clarivate accomplished so much this past year, from a company-wide celebration of International Women’s Day to local professional development and networking events. Just a few of our achievements include:

  • Four new chapters in Boise, Japan, South Korea and Charlottesville
  • The relaunch of our London chapter
  • Six new chapter leader volunteers
  • Global participation in our first professional development webinar series
  • Many, many local events, networking opportunities and so much more.

Today the program consists of 13 chapters across the world, with 75% of women involved in STEM roles. Our mission is to cultivate an environment in which women flourish through the creation of opportunities for social interaction, networking, community engagement and professional development – uplifting employees who identify as female and enabling them to better contribute to Clarivate’s vision, mission and values. For those of us involved in Women@Clarivate, it’s an incredibly rewarding experience as we get to know our colleagues better and have an impact on our colleagues and communities around us.

Last year, we wanted to start celebrating those colleagues who have gone above and beyond to embody our mission and values, not just inside Clarivate but also in their wider community. As a result, we introduced the Women at Clarivate Awards – a new initiative to help us recognize those individuals and their contributions. Congratulations to each of them, and a big thank you for everything that you do to inspire and help those around you.

There are two awards: Chapter Influencers of the Year and Global Influencer of the Year. The Chapter Influencers of the Year awards recognize one individual within each of the chapters who has advanced the mission of our organization.

The Global Influencer of the Year is selected by an awards committee from the Chapter Influencer winners and given the opportunity to spend a day working side by side with Clarivate’s CEO, Jerre Stead. Picking one winner from the list of influencers was not easy.  Each woman had demonstrated the power of the individual to make a difference in the lives of others – both here at Clarivate and in their communities.  I want to thank and celebrate each winner!

Our first Global Influencer of the Year

The inaugural global winner is Chaitali Talreja, Senior Research Analyst with the Life Sciences content team in India. Chaitali was unanimously voted the India Chapter Influencer for the inspiring way she gets outside of her comfort zone and takes charge of any task set in front of her.

Leading several corporate social responsibility initiatives, Chaitali works closely with others who share a similar commitment to serving their communities. She works with an under-privileged school to provide necessary items like raincoats and basic school supplies. She also gives back to the environment and has identified 50 saplings and a gardener who will oversee their planting to help improve air quality and support local wildlife in Mumbai. Her example has inspired many women who are eager to learn something new, support their communities and the natural world.

Our winning regional Chapter Influencers

She is an active board member and treasurer for Spuyten Duyvil Preschool, which specializes in progressive education for children in the Bronx. She also volunteers at a local food pantry serving domestic abuse survivors.

Boise: Holly Lohff – a leading example to many throughout the company and beyond, and described by co-workers as not only hardworking, but also friendly and humble. One of her many talents is being approachable and willing to take the time out of her day to teach others in a meaningful, long lasting way. Holly is dedicated to Clarivate, to her work, and to helping others be the best they can be.
