Reputation is a nebulous quality; you can\u2019t hold it in your hand or point to it on a wall, but an institution\u2019s reputation can dictate its future path of success. An institution\u2019s reputation enables it to grow its endowment, engage in collaboration with other institutions both regionally and internationally, fund its existing researchers, and attract new faculty and students from around the globe.<\/p>\n
Reputation can\u2019t be held, but it can be measured, and the Clarivate Analytics<\/em> Global Institutional Profiles Project Academic Reputation Survey<\/em> has been doing just that for the past nine years. Invitations to participate in the reputation survey are sent to academics and researchers anonymously by a third-party survey company, balanced by region and subject area to account for varying levels of research activity in regions around the globe.\u00a0 The survey is offered in nine languages and includes 105 specialty areas. Questions in the survey are crafted in such a way as to be as relevant and discipline-specific as possible. Respondents have the opportunity to select both the largest and most well-known institutions as well as smaller, more specialized organizations within their chosen discipline. Topics included in the survey include both teaching and research quality.<\/p>\n Reputation can\u2019t be held, but it can be measured, and the Clarivate Analytics<\/em> Global Institutional Profiles Project Academic Reputation Survey<\/em> has been doing just that for the past nine years.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Clarivate Analytics<\/em> then collects and combines paper and citation count data with unique data on reputation, staff and student makeup, and funding to create a 360 degree view of all aspects of an institution\u2019s performance in the Global Institutional Profiles Project<\/a>. The Profiles Project is the analytical power behind such ranking programs as the US News & World Report Best Global Universities Ranking<\/a> and the Russian Round University Ranking<\/a>. Select data collected are also used in our own InCites Benchmarking & Analytics<\/em> product.
