First Converis Conference in Canada
On May 10th, Thomson Reuters held its first Converis™ conference in Canada. Converis is a configurable system that helps institutions streamline and manage their research activities and faculty reporting needs. École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS) co-hosted this interactive session on their campus in Montreal. A group of current Converis users, as well as those interested in the system, had an interactive day of presentations and discussions.
Converis users from ÉTS and HEC Montreal presented on how they are using Converis to manage their research and faculty activities efficiently. David Baker, Executive Director of CASRAI, spoke to the group about the value of establishing data standards and using them in research management systems like Converis. Martin Kirk, Director of the Office of Research Services at University of British Columbia, discussed the complexities of selecting and implementing a research management system. Representatives from Thomson Reuters presented on the current and future state of Converis, as well as best practices for launching a research management system.
Attendees had the opportunity to learn from each other, provide feedback to Thomson Reuters, and network. We look forward to holding more Converis events in Canada and globally.
