Chief Executive Officer
Jay was appointed CEO of Clarivate Analytics in January 2017. He has worked for leading companies in the information services industry for more than 30 years, with experience across a number of sectors including intellectual property, life sciences, financial services and tax. Jay has held senior executive roles at companies including Thomson Financial, Information Holdings (a prior owner of some of the Clarivate Analytics products), MLM Information Services, and Interactive Data (IDC).
He has spent most of his career focused on accelerating growth by meeting the needs of customers with innovative products. As Chief Operating Officer of IDC from 2010-2016, Jay accelerated revenue growth, improved customer satisfaction and profitability, and led the company through a successful sale.
Jay has held positions on the Board of Directors of SNL Financial and TechEx (Intellectual Property Technology Exchange). He has also been an advisor to iParadigms (now known as Turnitin) and RS Energy Group.
Jay has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
Chief Financial Officer
Richard joined Clarivate Analytics in February 2017 as its Chief Financial Officer where he manages the global financial organization and leads the development and execution of the company's fiscal strategies. Prior to Clarivate, Richard was the CFO at BDP International Inc. for four years. Before that he was at Infogroup Inc. Richard is a chartered accountant and trained with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the UK, where he holds British citizenship.
Richard is a graduate of the University of Nottingham Business School with an honors degree in Industrial Economics. He lives in the Philadelphia area with his wife and three children.
Chief Commercial Officer
Bob was appointed Chief Commercial Officer of Clarivate in February 2017. In this role, he leads all commercial aspects of the organization, including Sales, Marketing and Global Policy and Partnerships. Most recently Bob was President at Mediant Communications, an investor communications business. Prior to that he was CEO/President of Law & Business, a division of Wolters Kluwer, where he served customers in academia, law firms, corporations and health care organizations. He began his career in Sales at General Electric. Bob also serves on the Board of Decision Economics.
Bob earned his Bachelor's degree in Business at Merrimack College, and has studied various graduate business disciplines at both Columbia University and the Wharton School of Business.
Global Head of Sales & Services
David was appointed to his current role as Global Head of Sales and Service in 2009. He is dedicated to providing tools and services that support the creation, management and commercialization of corporate, academic and government innovation.
David joined the company in 1988 and has held positions in sales, content licensing, business development and general management, including several years as president and managing director.
In 2014, David was recognized on ALM's The National Law Journal 50 Intellectual Property Trailblazers and Pioneers list.
David holds bachelor's degrees in history and computer applications from the University of Notre Dame and a MBA from the University of North Carolina.
David Liu 刘煜
Managing Director APAC
Dr. David Liu was appointed managing director of Asia Pacific in January 2017. He is responsible for Australia, New Zealand, the greater China region, Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia. He was previously the managing director of Thomson Reuters China business, responsible for Financial & Risk, Legal, Tax & Accounting and the Intellectual Property (IP) & Science business units.
David holds a Bachelor's degree in Applied Chemistry from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, China and a Master's degree in Organic Chemistry from Zhongshan University (also known as Sun Yat-sen University) in Guangzhou, China. He completed his Ph.D. study in Bio-organic Chemistry at Zhongshan University. David also completed the General Management Program (GMP) at Harvard Business School in May 2009.
President, IP and Techstreet businesses
Dan joined Clarivate Analytics in February 2017 as President of the IP and Techstreet businesses. Dan was most recently an Executive Committee Member of Interactive Data (IDC), where he was the Managing Director and President of Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong. Prior to that, Dan was a member of the Executive Committee at Information Holdings where he was President of the MicroPatent and Master Data Center businesses.
Dan graduated from California State University – Long Beach with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Asian Studies and then went on to earn his Master's in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix, AZ.
Global Head of Marketing
Elise was appointed to her current role as Global Head of Marketing in 2014. With her experience in marketing and sales, she has worked for Thomson Reuters for 12 years. She held leadership roles in marketing for Thomson Reuters Enterprise, Trading and Financial businesses.
Prior to joining the company, Elise spent 11 years at Lloyds TSB working mainly on mergers and acquisitions.
Elise has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies from the University of Hertfordshire.
General Counsel and Global Head of Business Development
Steve Hartman has served as General Counsel and Global Head of Business Development for Clarivate Analytics since July 2014. Steve joined Thomson Reuters in 2000 and has previously served as Deputy General Counsel, TR Professional, General Counsel for Thomson Scientific and as Chief Counsel (EMEA) for Thomson Financial. Prior to his time with Thomson Reuters, Steve worked as European counsel for Primark.
Steve graduated from the University of Nottingham.
Chief Technology Officer
Bahman Koohestani is Chief Technology Officer for Clarivate Analytics, and has been a technology leader and innovator for more than 25 years. He joined the company in early 2015. Before Clarivate Analytics, Bahman was EVP and CTO of NexTag. Prior to that, he served as Global Vice President for merchant and consumer product development at PayPal. He also held roles of CIO/CTO at Orbitz Worldwide and was a VP of Messaging Technology at Netscape. In 2001, Bahman was a finalist for E&Y and NASDAQ's entrepreneur of the year.
Bahman graduated with an engineering degree in Computer Science from York University in Toronto Canada.
Global Head of Brand Protection
Mark leads the Brand Protection Business for Clarivate Analytics (MarkMonitor, CompuMark, and IP Asset Management).
Prior to joining the company, he served as General Manager for the Software as a Service (SaaS) Business Unit of CA Technologies and before that Mark was the EVP and General Manager for the SaaS Business Unit of MarketTools. Mark has held additional leadership roles at Saba Software, Inc., PeopleSoft, Documentum, Neovista, Systems Control, EDS and General Electric.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
Vice President, Business Planning and Operations
Wendy was appointed to her current role as VP of Business Planning and Operations for Clarivate Analytics at the end of 2014.
Prior to Clarivate Analytics, Wendy worked for 12 years as a management consultant specializing in program and change management.
Outside of Clarivate Analytics, Wendy is a member of the Pilotlight Programme, which matches business people with ambitious charities who need strategic direction and support.
