Taylor & Francis partners with Publons to help reviewers get recognized

As part of the effort to increase recognition of the contributions of peer reviewers, Taylor & Francis has implemented a new partnership with Publons, the online platform that helps reviewers secure verified recognition for their contributions. For 30 Taylor & Francis journal titles, reviewers completing their reviews in ScholarOne Manuscripts can opt in to have their work automatically verified and submitted to Publons for recognition on their profile.

Leon Heward-Mills, Global Journals Publishing Director at Taylor & Francis, said,

“The partnership between Taylor & Francis and Publons offers an innovative way of providing greater recognition for the crucial role reviewers play. It will be an extremely useful tool across our network of reviewers and editors in Biological, Earth, Environmental Science and Behavioural Science journals.”

The Publons implementation is made possible through the partnership between Publons and ScholarOne, which leverages ScholarOne’s API to equip publishers to easily credit their reviewers through the Publons platform (to the level of detail of their choosing). Journals included in the Taylor & Francis Publons trial have their own dashboards, and completed reviews contribute to the article’s Altmetric score. For reviewers, their completed review details can be automatically added to their profile on publons.com.
